Lake Delton is Gone!!!

What you are looking at is the most amazing thing I have ever seen. When you get the kind of storms we had, dumping close to 10" of rain in just a few days you expect flooding. But it is flooding that literally drained a whole lake. Not a small lake either. Lake Delton is a tourist destination in Wisconsin Dells, WI. Resorts and a destination spot for the whole region. After rains fell Friday, Saturday and Sunday, residents were very busy sandbagging to keep the ever rising water out of their homes and businesses. Then the unthinkable. The water, looking for a way to escape washed a whole in a roadway that lead the water straight to the Wisconsin River. Within a very short time, Some say less than an hour, the lake was drained out. A 254 acre lake drained to mud and muck. More pictures available at www.wxwatch-1.com
