The 2009 severe weather season for the Badger state was below average. The number of tornadoes, damaging wind, large hail, and flooding events were all below normal. This is because for much of spring and summer the storm track was much more west and south of the state. As of December 1st there were 16 tornadoes (the average is 21). All of the twisters were located in southern and western counties.
