More Severe Weather Sunday

On Sunday, more of the same essential factors will hold sway over the middle third of the nation. The outcome will be more outbreaks of powerful thunderstorms with severe local weather over the Midwest to the middle Great Plains.

The essential factors will once again be summery warmth spread throughout the South Central states and an unusual chilly outbreak into the northern Plains. Thunderstorms instigated by this atmospheric clash will have potential to unleash severe weather from northern Illinois through Iowa and northern Missouri to central Nebraska and northern Kansas.

Threat of violent thunderstorms will peak late Sunday into Sunday night over an area of eastern Nebraska including Omaha to about Des Moines, Iowa, and southward to about Kansas City in northwestern Missouri and northeastern Kansas.

Strongest storms will threaten damaging winds and large hail as well as flooding downpours.
