Severe storms will erupt over parts of the Rockies today. A storm system moving toward the northern Rockies will trigger storms over parts of eastern Idaho, western Wyoming and Montana northward into southern Alberta. The storms will be capable of producing hail larger than quarters and 60-mph-plus wind gusts. The hail could damage crops, while the winds down trees and power lines. Some sheds and outbuildings could also be damaged.
Isolated, but dangerous storms could erupt over eastern Colorado and New Mexico to the central High Plains. These storms could also produce strong winds and large hail. It is not out of the question for an isolated tornado to spawn from the strongest storm.
